The National Air Transportation Association
Born
in late December 1940, in Kansas City,
Mo., the National Air Transportation Association
has been long been a voice for business
aviation including private air charter
companies. With the looming threat of
war, the US proposed to ground all private
flying in December of 1940. A group representing
private aviation met in Kansas City and
banded together to speak out against the
government‘s intentions. NATA has
had a major positive impact on the business
jet charter community through their representation
on a federal level.
Today, NATA is tasked with lobbying and
tracking key legislation that would affect
the private air charter community. Standing
committees within NATA, comprised of experienced
and knowledgeable members, meet regularly
to address the important issues facing
the business jet charter community. The
association’s current membership
is nearly 2000 companies strong. Executive
Fliteways has been a NATA member since
1983 and in an ongoing effort to protect
the interests of private air charter,
Executive Fliteways President John Grillo
has worked within NATA on the Air Charter
committee. Mr. Grillo has also worked
on the Training sub-committee in an effort
to raise the levels of training and experience
amongst the private jet charter member
companies.
